First published at the age of ten, Barton Green earned the National COG Teen Talent Writing Award just seven years later. He has served as Senior Writer for Heritage Press, Editorial Director for Copeland Publications and Head writer for the LBN/FamilyNet Cable Network.
Green’s inspiring short stories such as Took, Apathy Boulevard, A Path Of Your Own and the classic Alone In Times Square, have appeared in periodicals from Moody Monthly to CCM Magazine. And in the world of Television, Green’s innovative scripts have served as the foundation for both FamilyNet’s long-running Act It Out series, as well as the imaginative vignettes of the nationally syndicated, Kingdom Connection. Barton’s notable range of visual works include the Christmas tale, Unregistered Guest, the docudrama, The Cradle, the international tribute to Mother Theresa, A Pencil In The Hand of God, the surrealistic stage production, The Portrait, and the story & screenplay for Carman’s most requested music video, Great God!
Bart’s unique way with words have also been employed by a number of recognizable figures; from four-time Heavyweight Boxing Champ, Evander Holyfield, Psychologists Dr. Kevin Leman & Randy Carlson, recording artists Mark Schultz and Anthony Evans, Jr., BMI international president Frances Preston and Guinness Book record holder and international diplomat, Sir Lionel Luckhoo.
Among His favorite efforts is a rare collection of stories-behind-the-songs. Sitting down with a number of today’s top songwriters, Green took the established form of recounting the makings of a hit and reinvented it. Composed in first person, Bart weaved the poetry of the artists’ lyrics throughout the prose account of each song’s birth, creating a rare connection between the composer, their music and the reader. The book is aptly titled, Between The Lines & Spaces.
Bart recently completed the inspiring book, Prepared in collaboration with Cincinnati Bengal Tight End, Reggie Kelly. And the screenplay for the highly anticipated short story/Live action DVD with Master Illusionist Harris III; a project which he also debuted his acting skills, playing the supporting male lead role of Mr. McMichael, the illusionist’s teacher.
